Many of the people we support do not have a wide social network and rarely get to do an activity of their choice independently from their parents or carers.
Our Friendship Outings Scheme links two trained Kith & Kids volunteers with a person with a disability and they plan a social activity together: the cinema, pub, restaurant, bowling, country walk…you name it. It’s an opportunity to be included in wider society and enjoy the friendship of their peers.
Those involved find that this scheme brings them a wonderful sense of independence, as well as an opportunity for lots of fun!
