Happy New Year!
Hope you have had a great break and have started 2012 with a bang. We have been busy over the past couple months so here’s what we have been up to. The best way to catch up with us is by reading our latest newsletter, K&K Winter Readabout 2012.

Respite Weekend

On the 13th January, two young adults with learning disabilities, along with volunteers and coordinator Helen Robertson went to a youth centre in Amersham for two days. The weekend was packed full of exciting activities such as nature walks, craft, camp fires and plenty more. These Respite weekends are a new project at Kith & Kids, aiming to provide fun activities as well as give parents and carers a break themselves.

Residential Project

In the first week of January, members of the Employability and Life Skills Project, along with volunteers and staff, travelled to a Northamptonshire for their Residential Project. The theme was healthy living and boy did they take to the task! They did sessions on food nutrition, took part in an intense work-out session, did archery and bridge building as well as doing various other workshops too. Safe to say, during the three days, everyone had a wonderful (at times exhausting!) time.

Xmas 2:1 Social Development Project

Xmas Project was yet another great success! Thanks to everyone who took part to make it as enjoyable as ever. We had our usual concoction of art, craft, music, drama and games, as well as day trips out to the theatre, Southbank Centre and Winter Wonderland amongst many others. The atmosphere made it really special and we look forward to the next one in Spring!

Our Readabout is the Kith & Kids quarterly newsletter providing with you all our activities, events and more. It’s the best way to stay informed!
